Arcosanti Stiltasana 2018

Stiltasana is a great event to evolve your skills and meet the wider stilting community as we work, train and relax together. It is for performers, stilters, dancers, yogis, and those with a deep curiosity to explore the capacity of their body.
Start the full moon weekend and shake off the cobwebs by spending a weekend learning Carpetbag Brigade’s unique acrobatic stilt vocabulary. Participants will learn a mix of acrobatics, butoh and contact improvisation through still point exercises, partner walks, inversions & oppositions and graceful ground movement all on stilts. With a mix of technique and improvisation participants will be given tools to evolve their own sequences. Challenge and classes will be provided for all levels of stilters – beginners, intermediate and advanced. Evolve you skills and meet the broader acro-stilt community.
Enjoy the unique urban desert city of Arcosanti sharing stilt stories by the pool and immersing yourself in the urban laboratory and desert landscape of Arcosanti in Northern Arizona.

Global Stilt Congress
Global Stilt Congress is an annual gathering hosted by The Carpetbag Brigade. It serves as an arena for stilt-oriented performers and practitioners to come together, exchange skills, develop craft, and strengthen our stilts community and network. During Global Stilt Congress invited teachers and directors share their techniques, compositional strategies and life experiences through classes, lectures, and a culminating site specific performance project.
A mobile endeavor Global Stilt Congress occurs in different locations for each manifestation. It is two weeks in length with the first week focused on sharing techniques on stilts and the second week focused on a stilts creative process.
Critical Stilt Gatherings
a somewhat impromptu assemblage of stilted participants to public gatherings to create glee, wonder and sometimes….confusion.
The Next Critical Stilts is still TBD. Have us at your events or gatherings we can bring 6-12 fabulous stilt walkers to fill the space with glee!
